In a power of attorney document, do you have to sign or initialize every page?
A procura(Italy's power of attorney, POA) was rejected by an attorney because the first page was not initialized.
Some attorneys say that initials help keep people from substituting new pages into the document, and others: "A valid power of attorney document in California does NOT require the initialing of every page".
The notary must ensure that they include the correct acknowledgment statement since some states have different requirements for this wording. It must have the notary's signature, stamp and date.
There are attorneys in different countries that only know their local law and think that every country follows the same format. Becoming knowledgeable with the Hague Convention rules and the laws of the country where the POA was originated will save time for them and their clients.
